Azido-PEG8-NHS ester is an 8-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) bifunctional linker bearing an azide on one terminus and an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester on the other. It is used for bioconjugation: the azide enables azide-alkyne cycloaddition (copper-catalyzed or strain-promoted), while the NHS ester reacts with primary amines to form stable amide bonds.
- Azide enables copper-catalyzed and strain-promoted click chemistry.
- N-hydroxysuccinimide ester labels primary amines (for lysine and amine-modified substrates).
- PEG8 spacer increases hydrophilicity and improves solubility in organic and mixed solvents.
- Soluble in DMSO, dichloromethane, and DMF.
- Commonly used as an ADC or PROTAC linker and general bioconjugation reagent.
- Store at -20 °C to preserve stability.
