Basic fuchsin is a triaminotriphenylmethane dye that is widely used to stain muscle, mitochondria, and collagen. It is generally a mixture of pararosaniline (C. I. 42500), rosaniline (C. I. 42510), magenta II and new fuchsine (CI 42520).
