After administration, BAY1161909 binds and inhibits the activity of Mps1, leading to inactivation of spindle assembly checkpoints (SAC), accelerated mitosis, chromosomal misalignment, chromosomal mispolymerization, unstable mitotic checkpoint complexes and increased aneuploidy .
