  • Contains sodium thioglycollate and L-cystine as reducing agents to prevent peroxide accumulation, inactivate heavy metal compounds, and maintain a low redox potential
  • Resazurin acts as an oxidation-reduction indicator, appearing pink when oxidized and colorless when reduced
  • Small amount of agar stabilizes the medium against convection currents
