Used with microbiological culture media. BD™ Difco™ Dextrose Glucose, Anhydrous is a form of D(+)-Glucose. The dehydrated form provides greater convenience for the laboratorian and bioprocessing specialist.

D-Glucose is a simple sugar that circulates in the blood of animals as blood sugar, and is made in plants during photosynthesis. It is an important source of power for cellular respiration. Glucose is stored as as a starch in plants and as glycogen in animals.
