Waters Corp Waters Column, Phenyl, 13 μm, 1000 Å, 21.5 mm × 150 mm
Supplier: Waters Corp 186002160
These columns separate proteins and peptides based on their hydrophobic characteristics, offering an alternative to reversed-phase chromatography when proteins may denature at high organic solvent concentrations. Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC) uses adsorption to a weakly hydrophobic surface at high salt concentrations, followed by elution with a decreasing salt gradient. This combines non-denaturing properties with HPLC precision for effective separation. A large 1000 Å pore size accommodates proteins up to 5,000,000 Daltons.
- Endcapped design.
- Parker-style endfitting type.
- Enables non-denaturing separation of biomolecules, preserving biological activity.
- Accommodates large proteins up to 5,000,000 Daltons due to a 1000 Å pore size.
- Polymeric resin provides pH stability for method development.
