Biotin-azide is a form of biotin with a terminal azide group, designed for Click Chemistry applications. It enables the preparation of various biotinylated conjugates through copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) reactions with alkyne-containing molecules, and strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with DBCO or BCN groups. This reagent has been used in vitro for post-crosslinking chemical functionalization to isolate transcriptional protein complexes from yeast cells.
