Vector Laboratories Griffonia (Bandeiraea) Simplicifolia Lectin II (GSL II, BSL II) Biotinylated 2 mg

Supplier: Vector Laboratories B12152

Griffonia simplicifolia lectin II (GSL II) is a dimeric glycoprotein composed of two subunits of nearly identical size. Each subunit has disulfide-linked chains and a binding site for α- or β-linkedN-acetylglucosamine residues. Unlike other N-acetylglucosamine-specific lectins, increasing the number of N-acetylglucosamine residues beyond two does not improve affinity. GSL II is unique in its ability to recognize exclusively α- or β-linked N-acetylglucosamine residues on the nonreducing terminal of oligosaccharides. This conjugate features a ratio of biotin to lectin protein that provides optimal avidin/streptavidin and lectin binding activity. Supplied essentially free of unconjugated biotins, it is preserved with sodium azide.
