Boc-Leu-Gly-Arg-AMC is a fluorogenic AMC substrate primarily used for convertases. This compound is suitable for use in enzymatic assays. Research has shown its application in developing enzymatic assays to detect proteolytic enzymes, such as those capable of generating sodefrin, by measuring the liberation of 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin. The optimal activity for cleaving Boc-Leu-Gly-Arg-AMC in certain extracts has been observed at pH 9.0 and 45 °C.
