Laked Brucella Blood Agar w/ Kanamycin & Vancomycin (LKV) is an enriched, selective, & differential Med. for the isolation & partial identification of obligately anaerobic gram-negative bacilli. This media is prepared, dispensed, & packaged under oxygen-free conditions to prevent the formation of oxidized products prior to use. LKV is also available in a 1-plate package, split bi-plate, or packaged w/ other media types in a single convenience pack.LKV agar is useful for the rapid isolation of Prevotella species. LKV agar contains casein, soy peptone, meat peptone, yeast extract, & dextrose as its nutritive base. The selective agents include kanamycin & vancomycin to prevent the growth of most obligate gram-negative & gram-positive anaerobic bacteria, along w/ most facultative anaerobic bacteria.
