A highly potent antagonist of purinergic P2X4 receptor. Shown to block P2X4-mediated currents in Chinese hamster ovary cells (IC50 = 500nM). Blocks ATP-induced dilation of spiral ligament capillaries in guinea pigs. Also shown to restore the viability of activated CD4+ cells in the presence of 1mm ATP.
