Calcitonin, eel TFA is a thyroid hormone peptide that plays a role in regulating calcium homeostasis. It is frequently used in research concerning postmenopausal osteoporosis. In vitro studies show that Calcitonin, eel stimulates phosphoinositide hydrolysis and prolactin release in cultured anterior pituitary cells more effectively than salmon calcitonin. However, it does not inhibit prolactin release under conditions stimulated by thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH).
- Contributes to the regulation of calcium homeostasis.
- Widely used in postmenopausal osteoporosis research.
- Effectively induces a concentration-dependent stimulation of phosphoinositide hydrolysis in vitro.
- Stimulates prolactin release in cultured anterior pituitary cells in vitro.
- High purity of 99.91%.
