Calcium stearate, Hi-LR is a laboratory reagent grade metallic soap, the calcium salt of stearic acid (C36H70CaO4, CAS 1592-23-0, molecular weight 607.02), supplied as a white to off-white powder that is insoluble in water with free fatty acid of 3.00% maximum. It is used as a lubricant, anticaking and release agent, a water repellent and a general laboratory reagent. Store below 30 C, shelf life four years. Packaged as 500 g.
