SmartBlock™ is a BSA-free, peptide-based blocker for saturating free binding sites on plastic surfaces or other protein binding surfaces, removing background and preventing unwanted binding. This reagent was produced by chemically modifying peptides in a specific process that resulted in a peptide solution with strong blocking characteristics. SmartBlock™ has high lot-to-lot consistency that had previously only been obtained by synthetic blockers. For many assays, SmartBlock™ is an economical and reliable alternative to BSA-containing solutions. Problems caused by BSA within blockers, such as BSA-interactions and cross reactivities, can be eliminated by using SmartBlock™.
