Description
- Two electric heating elements rapidly heat bath medium to any desired temperature within the operating range
- Built-in cooling coil, when connected to tap water or cooling system (not included), permits operation at or near ambient temperature†
- Selector switch on the front panel facilitates rapid setting of ten temperatures for kinematic viscosity determinations: 20°, 25°, 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 70°, 80°, 90°, and 100°C
- After setting, the bath will equilibrate to within a fraction of 1° of the desired temperature
- Separate fine-tuning control allows temperature adjustment to within ±0.01°C
- VARIABLE setting on the front panel sets any temperature within the operating range
- Cylindrical 17L (4 1/2 gal.) clear glass bath chamber vessel measures 12 H × 12 in. dia. (30.5 × 30.5cm)
- Stainless-steel baffle in the center provides a plain reflective background for viewing instruments
- Top cover has seven 2 in. (5.1cm) holes for viscometer holders
- Two additional 3/8 in. (1cm) holes accommodate thermometers
- Safety features include a bath thermistor that senses any overtemperature fault condition
- If such a condition occurs, all power is removed from the bath until an operator resets the overtemperature limit circuit
- A liquid-level sensor prevents the control circuit from heating the bath until a safe operating level is obtained
- Power is also removed from bath heaters if the control thermistor is disconnected
