Analog of capsaicin (BML-EI125-0200) that acts as a capsaicin antagonist. Inhibits resiniferatoxin and capsaicin-induced contractions of guinea pig trachea. Inhibits C-fiber-smooth muscle contractions induced by capsaicin, bradykinin and neurokinin A. Increases intracellular Ca2+ levels. Alternative name: N-[2-(4-Chlorophenyl)ethyl]-1,3,4,5-tetrahydro-7,8-dihydroxy-2H-2-benzazepine-2-carbothioamide. Purity: ≥97% (HPLC, TLC). Appearance: White to off-white powder.
