Caspase-3/7 Inhibitor I (CAS 220509-74-0) is a reversible inhibitor of caspase-3 and caspase-7 structurally belonging to the isatin sulfonamide class It exhibits selective inhibition toward caspase-3 and caspase-7 with Ki values of 60 nM and 170 nM respectively while minimally affecting caspase-9 (Ki 3 1 mM) and showing negligible activity against other caspases (caspases 1 2 4 6 and 8 Ki 25 mM) In cell-based assays this inhibitor effectively reduces apoptosis induced by camptothecin in Jurkat cells (IC50 50 M) and markedly suppresses apoptosis in chondrocytes at similar concentrations The compound is routinely utilized in apoptosis research and may offer therapeutic insights into apoptotic modulation
