Recombinant Protein

For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 μg, 10 μg and 20 μg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 μL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. If properly stored at -80C, this product is guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase. Recombinant full-length human CDC7 and DBF4 proteins were co-expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag. , Validated in LanthaScreen™ Kinase Binding Assay, Protocols available for simple use and optimized performance, Multiple pack sizes available for convenient use Protein Form: Recombinant The gene accession number for the subunits (CD7/DBF4) are NP_003494.1 and NP_006707.1.

CDC7, or Cell Division Cycle 7, is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in the initiation of DNA replication. It is essential for the activation of replication origins during the S phase of the cell cycle. ASK, also known as Activator of S Phase Kinase/DBF4, is a regulatory subunit that binds to CDC7 and activates its kinase activity. The binding of ASK to CDC7 is necessary for the proper functioning of CDC7, as it regulates the activation and specificity of the kinase. Together, the CDC7/ASK complex is critical for the regulation of DNA replication. This complex phosphorylates components of the pre-replication complex at replication origins, thereby promoting the initiation of DNA synthesis. By ensuring that replication origins fire at the appropriate time, the CDC7/ASK complex helps to maintain genomic stability and proper cell cycle progression.
