Recombinant Protein

For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 μg, 10 μg and 20 μg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 μL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. If properly stored at -80C, this product is guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase. Recombinant full-length human CDK2 and CyclinA1 were co-expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag on both proteins. , Validated in LanthaScreen™ Kinase Binding Assay, Protocols available for simple use and optimized performance, Multiple pack sizes available for convenient use Protein Form: Recombinant The gene accession number for the subunits (CDK2/Cyclin A1) are NP_001789.2 and NP_001104515.1.

CDK2, or Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 2, is a key member of the cyclin-dependent kinase family that regulates cell cycle progression. CDK2 is particularly important for the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase and for the progression through the S phase of the cell cycle. Cyclin A1 is a regulatory subunit that binds to CDK2 and activates its kinase activity. The binding of Cyclin A1 to CDK2 is crucial for the proper functioning of CDK2, as cyclins regulate the activation and specificity of CDKs. Together, the CDK2/Cyclin A1 complex plays an important role in the regulation of the cell cycle, particularly during the S phase and the G2/M transition. This complex is involved in the phosphorylation of key substrates that are necessary for DNA replication and the preparation for mitosis, ensuring accurate and efficient cell division.
