Tropoelastin is the water soluble precursor to the common structural protein elastin, formed by the crosslinking of tropoelastin monomers. Tropoelastin is a structural protein responsible for providing strength and elasticity to tissues in the body. Used as a cell culture surface coating, tropoelastin can promote cell attachment and spreading, while simultaneously allowing the modulation of surface elasticity. Studies have shown that surface stiffness can have significant effects on cell growth and function.CellAdhere™ Tropoelastin, Human, Lyophilized contains a single recombinant protein composed of entirely human sequences. Product is supplied as a sterile, lyophilized powder. Endotoxin level is 10 EU/mL or less, as assayed by Limulus Amoebocyte Lysate assay.
