Description
Cholic acid sodium salt is a bio-surfactant which can be used as a reducing reagent in aqueous solution. It is also used as a non-denaturing detergent used for extraction of membrane proteins. Sodium cholate hydrate has been used in a study to assess the effect of phospholipid formulation and surfactants on the dermal delivery of hydrophilic drugs from elastic liposomes. It has also been used in a study to investigate the elastic deformable vesicles, transfersomes, for transdermal drug delivery.
This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand.
