Cytokeratin 20 (46kD) is relatively less acidic than other type I keratins.This antibody reacts with certain types of carcinomas such asadenocarcinomas of the colon, transitional cell carcinomas of the bladderand Merkel cell tumors of the skin. It does not stain breast, lung, andendometrial adenocarcinomas. This differential staining pattern of thisantibody makes it very useful for tumor evaluation when used inconjunction with cytokeratin 7 staining.
