CleanCap Reagent AG is a 5X concentrated capping reagent for 5' end repair of DNA or RNA. It contains an enzyme mix to catalyze the addition of a cap structure to the 5' end of RNA or DNA. The cap consists of a guanine nucleotide connected to the 5' end via a 5'-5' triphosphate linkage. This cap protects the RNA or DNA from degradation and is required for efficient translation. The reagent also contains alkaline phosphatase to remove the 5' phosphate left by T4 PNK treatment. CleanCap Reagent AG is optimized for use in common molecular biology applications including library preparation for next generation sequencing.
