Depending on the protein or the antibody, the pH of the Coating Buffer is crucial for efficient immobilization, as the pH-value can have an influence on the steric structure of proteins or antibodies. Coating Buffer is offered with a pH of 7.4, based on PBS, or 9.6, based on carbonate. For the optimization of the coating procedure of a newly developed immunoassay, we strongly recommend testing the two Coating Buffers side by side. Depending on the type of surface and the type of proteins or antibodies, the required incubation time can vary.
