Alkali Scientific Columbia CNA w/5% Sheep Blood 20mL Plate, 10/Pk

Supplier: Alkali Scientific CCOP00
Columbia CNA Agar with 5% Sheep Blood is a selective and differential culture medium used for isolating Gram positive cocci from mixed microbial specimens. Each sterile 100×15mm petri dish contains 20mL of Columbia Agar base enriched with 5% defibrinated sheep blood and the antibiotics Colistin and Nalidixic Acid. These agents suppress most Gram negative bacteria, including Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas, allowing Gram positive organisms such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Enterococcus, and Corynebacterium to grow clearly. The sheep blood enriches the medium and enables differentiation of colonies based on hemolytic reactions including alpha, beta, and gamma hemolysis. The 20mL fill volume provides a stable nutrient environment suitable for clinical microbiology and diagnostic laboratory testing.
