Description

New liquid-based transport for microbiology

  • Patented process sprays tips with short strands of nylon fiber that bond in a perpendicular fashion
  • Strong capillary action between the fibers on the flocked tip keeps the sample very close to the surface
  • Sample rapidly and completely elutes from the flocked swab as soon as it is placed in the transport medium
  • Various molded tips correct for different parts of the human anatomy
  • Provides 1mL of sample suspension for Gram stain and multiple culture analysis
  • Maintains viability of aerobes, anaerobes and fastidious bacteria for up to 48 hours
  • Suitable platform for automated liquid handling
