METASPEC ASTM D2272 Copper Catalyst Coil

Copper catalyst coil, conforms to ASTM D2272, ASTM D2112 and IP 229. These coils are used in the RBOT / RPVOT test to evaluate the oxidation stability of inhibited mineral insulating oils and steam turbine oils by rotating pressure vessel (RPVOT). This catalyst coil is also used in IP 229.
Coils are made from electrolytic, No. 14 AWG wire (1.63mm, 0.0641" diameter), 99.9% purity. Wire is polished with 100 grit silicon carbide abrasive cloth and wiped clean of dust prior to winding.
Coils are nominal 3 m long, wound on a mandrel to 44-45 mm diameter by 40-42mm high. Each coil is weighed and cut to final weight of 55.5 to 55.6 grams.
