Cytokeratin 20 (46kD) is relatively less acidic than other type I keratins. This antibody reacts with certain types of carcinomas such as adenocarcinomas of the colon, transitional cell carcinomasof the bladder and Merkel cell tumors of the skin. It does not stain breast, lung, and endometrial adenocarcinomas. This differential staining pattern of this antibody makes it very useful for tumor evaluation when used in conjunction with cytokeratin 7 staining
