Active Motif's Deacetylase Inhibitor can be used to inhibit histone deacetylase (HDAC) activity. Histone acetylation is known to play an important role in the regulation of chromatin structure and gene expression. Inhibition of HDAC activity leads to hyperacetylation of histones that results in changes in expression of a subset of genes and induction of cell cycle arrest, differentiation and apoptosis.
