Derf Needle Holders are surgical instruments designed for holding needles during suturing. The small size (12.5 cm/5") and the short jaws are perfect for smaller needles like 5-0 or 6-0 sutures. The tip has fine serrations and a groove in the center. The groove helps to securely hold thicker surgical needle. The tips of needle holders are generally shorter than those of surgical forceps. The interlocking ratchet handle ensures a firm grasp of the needle when the lock is engaged. The jaws are straight. These needle holders are manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel or premium German steel, both of which are autoclavable or suitable for chemical sterilization. Always clean your surgical instrument thoroughly every time you use them. These are available in stainless steel. Our Deaf Needle Holders are designed to withstand the high heat and chemical exposure of the sterilization process. They may be autoclaved.
