Diethylsilane is used as a precursor to prepare (3-allylsulfanyl-propyl)-diethyl-silane by using (Ph₃P)₃RhCl as reagent. It is also used in the chemical vapor deposition of SiO₂ for microelectronics.

Applications

Solubility
