DIM-C-pPhOCH3 is a Nur77 agonist. Nur77 (Nerve growth factor-induced Bα, NGFI-Bα) is an orphan nuclear receptor. It is used for research purposes only. In vitro, DIM-C-pPhOCH3 decreases survival and induces apoptosis in RKO colon cancer cells, accompanied by the induction of tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) protein. It also induces Nur77-independent apoptosis. In vivo, DIM-C-pPhOCH3 inhibits tumor growth in athymic nude mice bearing RKO cell xenografts.
