Quantity:
250 mg

Used to stabilize sulfhydryl-containing enzymes. Dl-Dithiothreitol, MP Biomedicals reduces protein disulfide bonds in sample buffers prior to SDS-PAGE. DTT is also used to reduce the disulfide bridge of the cross-linker N,N'-bis(acryloyl)cystamine to brea

DTT is a Clelands reagent that acts as a protective agent for sulfhydryl groups (-SH). It quantitatively reduces disulfides (-S-S- to -SH). In this reaction the DTT is oxidized to the cyclic disulfide, which ensures the reduction of other disulfides in solution. Disulfide reduction occurs quickly at pH 8.
