The kit has a maximum binding capacity of 10 ug DNA per column and can be used to purify DNA fragments from 40 bp to 40 kb. The kit is suitable for purifying DNA from agarose gels made with TAE or TBE buffer. The DNA Gel Extraction Kit removes GelRed and GelGreen Nucleic Acid Gel Stains, along with other commonly used nucleic acid gel stains. The purified DNA is compatible with common downstream applications such as transformation, sequencing, PCR, and restriction digests.
