ELISA

The Dopamine (DA) ELISA quantitates DA in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Principle of the method The Competitive mulispecies ELISA research use only kit is designed to quantitatively measure Dopamine (DA)independent of species . A Dopamine standard is provided to generate a standard curve for the assay and all samples are read off a user generated standard curve. Standards or diluted samples are pipetted into a coated microtiter plate and Biotinylated Detection Ab specific to Dopamine is added. Excess conjugate and unbound sample or standard are washed from the plate, and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. The enzyme substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color change is measured on a microplate reader. The concentration of Dopamine in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve. Dopamine (C6H3(OH)2-CH2-CH2-NH2) is a catecholamine neurotransmitter in the brain. Its chemical name is 4-(2-aminoethyl)benzene-1,2-diol. Dopamine is a hormone released by the hypothalamus. Its main function is to inhibit the release of prolactin from the anterior lobe of the pituitary. It can be used as a sympathomimetic drug, producing effects such as increased heart rate and blood pressure.Detection of catecholamine-secreting cells.
