Each bottle contains 100mL of buffered nutrient broth formulated with glucose, ox bile, and Brilliant Green dye. Glucose serves as an energy source that promotes rapid growth of Enterobacteriaceae such as Salmonella, E. coli, and related organisms. Ox bile and Brilliant Green act as selective agents that suppress Gram positive bacteria and reduce interference from competing microorganisms. This formulation supports recovery of stressed or injured cells while maintaining selectivity.
