The Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Colorimetric Assay Kit is a highly reliable and sensitive assay designed for the quantitative measurement of H2S in serum, plasma, and tissue samples. H2S is a crucial signal molecule involved in various biological processes, from cellular signal transduction to nerve conduction and protein synthesis, where it plays a role in regulating development, angiogenesis, and protecting organs from ischemia or reperfusion injury.

In this assay H2S reacts with an acetate solution to create soluble ZnS, where, in the presence of Fe3+, methylene blue is formed (which has a maximum absorption peak at 665 nm). The concentration of iron can be indirectly calculated by measuring the OD value.
