The Kyocera 170HG9 is a 2 flute, high speed steel end mill with a 1/2" shank diameter and 1" cutting diameter. It has an overall length of 3-1/2" and features TiAlN coating for increased tool life and heat resistance. This end mill is designed for slotting, side milling and contouring operations in a variety of materials including alloy steels, tool steels, cast iron, stainless steel, titanium and nickel based alloys. It has a center cutting design allowing plunge cuts and should be run at speeds up to 170 SFM when milling steel. Overall, this is a versatile, coated end mill well-suited for heavy duty milling applications on hard materials.
