Alkali Scientific Endo Agar 20mL Plate, 10/Pk

Supplier: Alkali Scientific EENP00
Endo Agar is a selective and differential culture medium commonly used for the detection of coliform bacteria in water, dairy, and environmental samples. Each sterile petri dish contains approximately 20mL of nutrient agar formulated with lactose and indicator dyes including basic fuchsin. Gram positive organisms are inhibited by the selective components of the medium, allowing Gram negative bacteria to grow. Lactose fermenting coliform bacteria produce acid during growth, which interacts with the dye system to form distinctive dark red colonies often showing a metallic sheen. Non lactose fermenting organisms typically produce pale or colorless colonies. Because of its clear differentiation and reliable performance, Endo Agar remains a standard medium for microbiological water quality testing.
