Endothelial Cell Growth Medium MV2 is a low-serum (5% V/V) medium developed for the in vitro cultivation of endothelial cells from microvascular vessels, the coronary artery, and the aorta.The medium lacks the Endothelial Cell Growth Supplement (ECGS, bovine hypothalamic extract) but contains basic Fibroblast Growth Factor, Insulin-like Growth Factor and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF). Because of its effects on cell metabolism, VEGF may interfere with certain experimental setups.
