Description

A combination of water-based buffered stains (pH range = 6.8 to 7.2) whereby the RBC's are hemolyzed allowing the malarial parasites to be stained.

  • Thick films provide a greater volume of blood and therefore, larger numbers of organisms for examination
  • Characteristic definitive morphologic criteria may be more difficult to see
  • The cytoplasm of white blood cells will stain with eosinophils predominant
  • For in-vitro diagnostic use only
