Recombinant Protein

For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 μg, 10 μg and 20 μg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 μL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. If properly stored at -80C, this product is guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase. This ERN2 recombinant human protein (499-end) was expressed in insect cells. ERN2 recombinant human protein is also available in our SelectScreen™ Kinase Profiling Service. Validated for use with the LanthaScreen™ Eu Kinase Binding assay Available in multiple pack sizes for convenient use Also available in our SelectScreen Kinase Profiling Service Protein Form: Recombinant, Active, Catalytic. The gene accession number for ERN2 is NP_150296.4.

ERN2 serine/threonine kinase or endoplasmic reticulum to nucleus signaling 2 protein is a human homologue of the yeast Ire1 gene product which plays a role in multiple facets of the ER stress response in mammalian cells. This pro-apoptotic appears to play no role in the unfolded-protein response, unlike closely related proteins. Overexpression of ERN2 activates both BiP and CHOP expression, and also leads to the development of programmed cell death. It has been suggested that Ern2 plays a role in multiple facets of the ER stress response in mammalian cells.
