  • It is useful for the determination of calcium in the presence of magnesium. It can be used to study molecular biology, biochemicals, reagents and chelators.
  • It has been used in a study that illustrated the response of the β-cyclodextrin-hemin complex in the induction of cucumber adventitious rooting through heme oxygenase-1-dependent mechanism and calcium signaling.
  • It is a chelating agent. It is also a buffer component in dideoxy sequencing of RNA using reverse transcriptase.
