Eugon LT100 Enrichment Broth is a highly nutritious medium formulated for the detection and enumeration of aerobic mesophilic bacteria, yeasts, and molds in cosmetic and personal care products. Each tube contains 9mL of Eugon broth supplemented with preservative neutralizing agents such as Lecithin, Polysorbate 80 (Tween 80), and often Triton X 100. The formulation aligns with international cosmetic microbiology testing standards including ISO 21149. The broth performs two critical functions: enrichment and neutralization. Cosmetic formulations frequently contain antimicrobial preservatives that can inhibit microbial recovery during testing. The LT100 neutralizers deactivate these compounds immediately upon contact, preventing false negative results. Meanwhile, the nutrient rich Eugon base containing peptones and glucose promotes rapid recovery and growth of stressed microorganisms.
