Thermo Scientific™ EZ-Link™ Alkoxyamine-PEG12-Biotin
Description
Thermo Scientific EZ-Link Alkoxyamine-PEG12-Biotin is a biotinylation reagent containing a very long, 12-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer for biotinylating macromolecules at carbohydrate groups that have been oxidized to form aldehydes.
Highlights:
Biotin – label macromolecules for detection or affinity purification with avidin and streptavidin
Alkoxyamine-activated – reacts with aldehyde groups (e.g., oxidized sugars in glycoproteins) to attach biotin by stable oxime bonds
Polyethylene glycol – PEG groups are flexible, non-immunogenic, hydrophilic, and improve the solubility of labeled antibodies
Long spacer arm – the reach between the point of attachment and the biotin affinity tag is more than 55 angstroms, minimizing steric hindrance for binding
Specifications:
- Chemical formula: C34H66N4O14S
- Molecular weight: 786.97
- Spacer arm: 55.4 angstroms
- Net mass added to target: 768.95
- Form: clear to light amber highly viscous liquid
- Solubility: dissolve in DMSO to make 250mM stock
