F(ab')2-Goat Polyclonal Secondary Antibody

Description: This polyclonal F(ab')2 fragment recognizes mouse IgM. Reactivity to human and bovine has been removed. This polyclonal antibody can be used to crosslink and activate B lymphocytes. Applications Reported: This polyclonal F(ab')2 Goat Anti-Mouse IgM has been reported for use in functional assays (such as B cell activation). Concentrations should be determined empirically for optimal performance in the assay of interest. Applications Tested: F(ab')2 Anti-Mouse IgM, u chain specific Functional Grade Purified has been tested by in vitro stimulation of mouse splenocytes. Filtration: 0.2 μm post-manufacturing filtered. Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin Level: Less than 0.5 ng/μg antibody, as determined by LAL assay. Aggregation: Less than 10%, as determined by HPLC.

Anti-Mouse secondary antibodies are affinity-purified antibodies with well-characterized specificity for mouse immunoglobulins and are useful in the detection, sorting or purification of its specified target. Secondary antibodies offer increased versatility enabling users to use many detection systems (e.g. HRP, AP, fluorescence). They can also provide greater sensitivity through signal amplification as multiple secondary antibodies can bind to a single primary antibody. Most commonly, secondary antibodies are generated by immunizing the host animal with a pooled population of immunoglobulins from the target species and can be further purified and modified (i.e. immunoaffinity chromatography, antibody fragmentation, label conjugation, etc.) to generate highly specific reagents.
