F(ab)-Goat Recombinant Superclonal Secondary Antibody

F(ab)-Goat anti-Human IgG (H+L) Superclonal™ Recombinant Secondary Antibody, Alexa Fluor™ Plus 488 detects all subtypes of Human IgG with moderate cross reactivity to Rat IgG and Monkey IgG. No cross-reactivity was observed towards other species of immunoglobulins tested. This Fab fragment antibody is expressed in vitro and purified as a recombinant construct. It is also engineered to deliver enhanced stability and sensitivity. The advantages of recombinant antibodies include-better specificity, animal origin-free formulation, and lot-to-lot consistency. F(ab) fragments offer several advantages over full-length IgGs due to their smaller molecular size (~50 kDa vs. ~150 kDa), such as improved tissue penetration. The absence of the Fc region reduces nonspecific binding and background staining in Fc receptor-expressing cells and tissues, while also enabling increased flexibility in multiplexing assays. Alexa Fluor™ Plus dyes have been chemically optimized to provide higher signal to noise ratios and minimized cross-reactivity to help detect low-abundance targets in rare or precious samples. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.

Anti-Human secondary antibodies are affinity-purified antibodies with well-characterized specificity for human immunoglobulins and are useful in the detection, sorting or purification of its specified target. Secondary antibodies offer increased versatility enabling users to use many detection systems (e.g. HRP, AP, fluorescence). They can also provide greater sensitivity through signal amplification as multiple secondary antibodies can bind to a single primary antibody. Most commonly, secondary antibodies are generated by immunizing the host animal with a pooled population of immunoglobulins from the target species and can be further purified and modified (i.e. immunoaffinity chromatography, antibody fragmentation, label conjugation, etc.) to generate highly specific reagents.
