Fast blue BB salt is suitable for the staining of enterochromaffin. Its applications are seen in enzyme histochemistry by Gomori and are suitable for the histochemical demonstration of beta-glucuronidase activities, and various peptidases and proteases. It is also used in enzyme histochemistry including the demonstration of serine esterase in blood smears and histological sections.
