Ferulic acid 4-O-sulfate, also known as Ferulic acid 4-sulfate, is a metabolite of Ferulic acid that has been observed to relax arteries and decrease blood pressure in mice.
- In vitro: This compound, at concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 30 μM, elicited significant concentration-dependent relaxations in the aorta, femoral, and saphenous arteries of mice.
- In vivo: When administered intravenously to male Swiss mice at dosages of 16.13 and 161.3 μg/kg, ferulic acid 4-O-sulfate demonstrated the ability to relax arteries and lower blood pressure, with a significant decrease in mean arterial pressure (MAP) observed immediately post-injection.
