Fexofenadine hydrochloride is an orally active and nonsedative H1 receptor antagonist. It can be used in allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticarial research. In vitro studies show that Fexofenadine inhibits IL-6 protein expression and blocks phosphorylated p38 activation in histamine-induced nasal fibroblasts. In vivo, it suppresses eosinophilia and systemic anaphylaxis in T. spiralis-infected mice.
